Pictures coming soon - even sooner if you e-mail me! In August of 1991 my first real holiday abroad became a reality. I wanted to go to the Provence in the south east of France, and because I didn't know much of the country or the language I decided to go on a two week camping trip organized by Do It, with a group of seven other Dutch people and a hostess. We travelled using a Toyota Mini-Van which seated 9 people. It was a great holiday, we visited a lot of natural and ancient man-made highlights. The weather was great except maybe once or twice, and the group was a lot of fun. We were all travelling alone yet together as a group. And I'm sure we broke some records on both wine and garlic consumption.
The Gorges du Verdon was absolutely the most amazing piece of nature I had ever seen.
It is a crack in Mother Earth of approx. 20 km length, at the bottom of which a beautiful
blue-green river, the Verdon, is flowing towards the Lac de Ste-Croix. |
